How To Live On The Edge Of Awesome Greatness (no regrets)

A few days ago a teenager challenged me to a game of chess. I had not played since I was a child but when the cocky teen guaranteed my complete annihilation, I couldn’t refuse.

In the picture above, my pieces are the frosted ones and his are the glassy looking ones. If you’re not familiar with chess much what’s happening here is that his horsey (Knight) had me in check-mate after 3 moves. Then the teen proudly said, “I wrecked you!” (whatever that means)

Needless to say I regretted playing him. Continue reading

So You Failed…Now What? How To Quickly Overcome

So…I recently made a BIG BLUNDER! I won’t bore you with the details but trust me I felt like that egg in the picture. And, if you would have seen me, I probably looked that way as well.

Have you been there?

Sure you have, it happens to all of us. We all wish we were like Caesar when he said, ‘Vendi, vendi, vici’ (‘I came, I saw, I conquered’) but we’re human and mistake prone. Yes, you will experience many victories along the way but also defeat. Just like eggs have a tendency to easily crack so failure is par for our course. Continue reading

How To Remember The Best of Your Life

I spent much of the day yesterday putting together a transcript in Spanish for a message I am going to preach on Sunday. It was exhausting! You may say, “But aren’t you Spanish? Isn’t Spanish your native language?” The answer is “Yes” and “Yes.” I am fluent in both English and Spanish but I primarily use my second language a good 90% of the time. Continue reading

How to Stay Accurate And Reach Your Amazing Life Destiny

I love accuracy!

My friend recently posted a picture on Facebook of his paralleled parked car. It took skill, timing, and accuracy. He was so proud.

I am fascinated at baseball players being able to hit a small hard ball coming at them at 100 mph. Or, the accuracy of a soccer player kicking a ball while twisting in the air and it goes pass the goalie and into the net for a “GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL” (as announcer Andres Cantor would call it)!

The thought of accuracy took me back to my childhood in Puerto Rico. Continue reading

Your Amazing VR Of The Rapture Time

I recently had my first experience wearing Virtual Reality (VR) glasses (as you’ve seen on tv).

VR is the technology that sends realistic images and sounds to the brain to make you imagine that you’re going through a real experience. The technology is fairly new and will get better but still you find yourself turning around and looking and moving your arms trying to feel what’s virtually in front of you. Continue reading

The Adjustments You Need To Be Life’s MVP

Tom Brady became Super Bowl LI’s MVP!

It was one of the best Super Bowl’s ever. The game even out-shined the commercials (in my opinion). And Gaga’s halftime show was great.

If you went to sleep before the end of the game here’s a quick recap: The Atlanta Falcons were in command during the first half of the game. They were scoring, knocking Brady around, and making the Patriot’s potent offense sputter. Continue reading

How To Leave The Right Happy Legacy

I was downtown recently when I heard the rumble of a train approaching. So I quickly got my android out and captured a sequence of photos. If you look carefully at the above picture and between the palm tree and the small metal station you’ll see the locomotive approaching. It was coming at a pretty good clip, too. Continue reading

How To Be Happy And At Ease Under Pressure

Ahhhh…RELIEF!

This morning was stressful. Have you had times like that? Times when whatever you had going on kept circling in your head riding heavy on your heart?

In a few moments you may feel like my source of stress was really nothing at all, but I just couldn’t help it. Continue reading

How To Win and Get All The New Marbles

Here in America there are a lot of people going for all the marbles.

Last night the Clemson Tigers won the NCAA College Football Championship by defeating and dethroning number 1 ranked Alabama. It was a thrilla’!

A few nights ago actors competed for their much coveted Golden Gloves Award. Then something happened, the actress receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award used her speech to get political. That made no sense whatsoever. She got an award she would only receive once in her life and she wasted her one and only speech on something inconsequential and not related to the joy of the award. Crazy! Continue reading
